Your active data stays in your browser.
TaskThimble is local-first, not network-free. Tool contents are processed in browser code; coarse first-party product events and ordinary hosting requests can still leave the browser.
What is processed locally
Pasted text and values, email/URL/number extraction, CSV/TSV contents, JSON parsing, XLSX worksheet reading, comparisons, cleaning, table transformations, compatibility mapping and generated exports are processed by browser code on your device.
Workbench continuity and undo
Compatible results can be kept in local browser storage for up to 12 hours so another TaskThimble tool can continue the task. A short undo history is stored locally as well. Clearing the workbench removes both the current result and that local history.
Remembered settings
Some tools can remember non-sensitive settings on this device, such as filter/sort preferences. These local presets are separate from workbench data and are not intended to store file contents.
Product analytics
Product analytics is limited to coarse information such as which tool was used, the general input type, an approximate size or row range, whether an action succeeded, which result action was used, whether a result continued to another TaskThimble tool and fixed error categories or stages when something fails. Raw error messages and stack traces are not collected. It excludes file names, worksheet names, column names, pasted values, cell contents, email addresses, URLs and JSON values. A short-lived session identifier can link actions within one browser session. Private analysis exports replace that identifier with an export-local label such as S0001.
Hosting and network boundary
Cloudflare can process ordinary request metadata such as IP address and user agent when serving the website and first-party API. TaskThimble does not add those values to its product analytics tables. Local-first therefore describes the processing of active tool data, not an assertion that the site makes zero network requests.

Current limits
Most table and text tools limit input to 25 MB and 250,000 table rows to reduce browser memory and responsiveness problems. List actions have their own smaller limits where appropriate. XLSX support focuses on worksheet values rather than Excel styling, macros or full workbook behavior.
External AI
TaskThimble's core tools use browser-based rules. If a tool uses an external AI service, the tool must explain that before user content is sent to that service.
